「Recustomer お試し購入」は、注文時の請求金額を0円としたまま、クレジットカードの与信枠（カードの利用可能額の一部）を確保する仕組みです。myhaloは、この仕組みをスマートフォン・PCのレンタルに活用します。お客様はデバイスの代金を前払いすることなくレンタルを開始でき、返却後に請求金額が確定します。利用開始から90日が経過しても返却されない場合は、確保した与信枠の範囲で決済され、購入として扱われます。

クレジットカードの与信には有効期限があるため、長期間にわたって与信枠を確保し続けることは技術的な課題です。Recustomerは、ECにおける自動再オーソリ処理に関する特許（第7721200号）を取得しており、与信を自動で更新することで、レンタル期間中も与信枠を維持します。

予約購入：iPhone新機種の発売前から注文を受け付け

さらにmyhaloでは、iPhoneの新機種発売にあわせた予約販売において「Recustomer 予約購入」を導入・活用しています。本機能を活用することで、注文完了時にクレジットカードの与信枠（オーソリ）のみを確保し、実際の売上確定は商品出荷時におこなう運用を実現しました。これにより、発売前から注文を受け付けながら、商品出荷のタイミングに合わせた決済運用を実現します。

高額デバイスのレンタルにおける未返却リスクへの備え

クレジットカードの与信枠を確保したうえでデバイスを貸し出すため、返却されない場合も確保した与信枠の範囲で決済できます。スマートフォンやPCのような高額な機器でも、未返却への備えを整えたうえでレンタルを提供できる環境を実現します。

Customers rent with no upfront payment, while myhalo stays protected against unreturned devices

Recustomer Try Before You Buy places an authorisation hold on the customer's credit card (reserving part of the card's available limit) while charging nothing at checkout. myhalo applies this mechanism to its smartphone and PC rentals: customers can start renting without paying for the device upfront. If the device is not returned within 90 days of the rental start date, the customer is charged within the reserved authorisation amount and the rental is treated as a purchase. If a device has not been returned 90 days after the rental begins, the customer is charged within the reserved authorisation amount and the rental is treated as a purchase.

Because credit card authorisations expire, keeping a hold in place over an extended period is a well-known technical challenge. Recustomer holds a patent for automatic re-authorisation in e-commerce (Japanese Patent No. 7721200), which automatically renews the authorisation so the hold stays active for the full rental period.

myhalo has also adopted Recustomer Pre-Order for pre-sales of new iPhone models. With this feature, only a credit card authorisation is secured when the order is placed, and payment is captured when the product ships.
